Image by Rasmussen College – Green Bay

At massage therapy school, you are taught methods and techniques to enable you to practice various types of massages. When you complete your course at massage school, you will have the education and training you needed to secure a job in any city, anywhere. If there is a position advertised for a well educated and trained masseuse, you will be able to apply for that position with confidently. Can you imagine having people pay you to provide them with the most superior massage they’ve ever had. Masseuses get paid very well especially if they were trained at an accredited massage school.

Massage schools not only teach you how to perform the techniques but they also teach you how to deal with customers on a daily basis. Since no two customers are the same and their needs differ, as well, there will constantly be a need for education on how to handle each case. As part of your massage school training, you will be required to perform practice massages. This will get you prepared to perform massages to actual paying customers.

Practice on friends:

You can perform these practice techniques on friends and family. You don’t get paid for them but they are required as part of your massage therapy school curriculum. The practice massages are good practice and, frankly, you need hands on experience if you ever hope to be a professional masseuse.

Massage therapy schools will train you in a number of excellent techniques in order to release tension in the human body. You will study the human body, its makeup, its muscle structure and its pressure points. These are all designed to help the everyday paying customer relax and release tension and stress. After all, that’s what they will soon be paying you to do as a professional masseuse after you receive your certification from a massage therapy school.

Places that hire graduates of massage therapy schools are day spas, massage parlors, nail salons, and that’s just to name a few. You can even work freelance. That way, you won’t have to pay someone else to set up shop in their place of business.

There are massage therapy schools in every major city, so there is a good chance there is a massage school near you. Check the local news paper and yellow pages or try an internet search using your favorite search engine.

The price of the courses at a massage therapy school may set you back quite a large sum of money, but it’s well worth it when you realize that you can make a lot of money as a well trained professional masseuse. So you get well paid to be able to give relaxation and happiness to many, many clients.

Question by Ihtiyorhon M: How one can be medical doctor after graduating from Massage Therapy School as an Associate of Occupat. Studies?
I want to apply for Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy, the program is Associate in Occupational Studies. But in future, I would like to apply for a Medical School. What should I do in order to get there properly? Is that possible to apply for a Medical School after graduating from Massage Therapy program?

Answer by ownpool
You will need to check the requirements in the country where you want to study medicine.

What do you think? Answer below!Question by FIDMpaige: How long will massage therapy school take?
I’m going to take a 700 hour massage therapy course, and I am hoping to complete it in 6-7 months being a full-time student and going to school for the maximum amount of hours per day. Is this possible? I know that a 500 hour course only takes 4 months to complete, but I’ve heard a lot of people saying that it took them over a year to complete their training. How long does it usually take?
Any input would be great!

Best answer:

Answer by Dotty
If you live in a state that regulates massage licensing laws, the state requirements set your minimum education. Legal minimums can range from 330 to 1,000 contact hours, and programs can take from a few weeks to two years, depending on how the program is structured. For complete information on massage schools in your area, read detailed fact sheets on available massage programs and contact schools for additional information.

What do you think? Answer below!Question by leah5302003: What is a good name for my massage therapy business?
I need a good catchy name for my massage therapy business. Something that doesn’t sounds sexual to have people think that I do more than a massage if you know what I mean. I offer swedish, deep tissue, hot stone massages, pregnancy and newborn baby massages. Please help!

Swedish or sliming massage?

The Swedish massage uses long flowing strokes which are most often in the direction of the heart, and it is especially created to increase both circulation and blood flow.

There are six basic hand strokes in Swedish massage:

Effleurage.

Petrissage.

Friction.

Tapotement.

Compression.

Vibration.

Also, there is normally a form of cream or lotion applied to the skin in order to reduce the wrong kind of friction and to allow for smoother strokes. Swedish massage is actually considered by many as being the best massage technique and it is generally the most well known, worldwide.

Giving a Swedish massage:

(1)The first step you need to take is to create a relaxing and comfortable environment, and there shouldn’t be anything around to interrupt, such as children or pets. As well, the room should be at a mild temperature and you should create proper lighting by dimming the lights or using only candlelight; for an enhanced effect, try lighting aromatherapy candles.

(1)Next, have the client lie down on a hard surface so that all of their muscles are adequately supported. If you don’t have a professional massage table, you can also use a firm mattress or a futon. You should be prepared, in that you should have all the required materials ready, such as hand towels and lubricants. Lubricants are especially crucial, as they are used to relax and to help make smoother strokes on the body.

(1)Once you have all of your materials ready and you are ready to begin the Swedish massage, you should always begin by targeting the larger muscle groups first, such as the neck, shoulders, back, and legs. For the maximum and most pleasurable effect, you will want to begin at the shoulders, and work from there to the neck, and then down the arms and onto the hands. You can then return to the upper and lower back, working your way down to the thighs and calves, and ending off with the feet.

The three basic Swedish massage strokes involved here are the effleurage, the fan stroke, and the circling hands.

(1)The effleurage, is the using of soft and fluid strokes steadily with the palm of the hand;
(2)The fan stroke, is done by sliding your hands up the shoulder blades and then up and over the shoulders, down to the lower back, so that you are basically drawing a coarse heart;
(3)The circling hands, quite obviously, is done by making counterclockwise circular motions with your fingers always pointing in the same direction.

Well hopefully the information given will encourage you to have a Swedish massage or even be trained in as a Swedish masseur.

Question by Trevin’s #1!: how does a swedish massage feel?
Wnt to know what a swedish massage feels like?
TO the people: Don’t say go experience it to find out! I want to know specifically what it feels like and what is the best part.

Best answer:

Answer by DanC
Best way to learn is to experience. Go to a massage studio or clinic and find out.

What do you think? Answer below!Question by louise: What is the difference between a Swedish massage and a deep tissue massage? Which one do you prefer?

Best answer:

Answer by prettylucky33
ive had both & i prefer the swedish massage.. the deep tissue massage just works into your skin deeper so its a bit rougher.. it feels like a trainers massage (ew) lol

Foot Massage

So today is your first day in a massage therapy class; you’ve done all your “homework” in reading everything you could find on massage therapist classes before you applied for this class. You’ve studied and checked out the many forms and styles of massage therapy that you’re eager to learn. You’re ready to get started!

One of the first things you will study in your massage therapy class will be in human anatomy. You will be required to become very familiar with the human body; its muscles, joints, tendons, connecting tissue, structure of organs, and the chemical makeup of the body. You can’t really begin to treat a problem if you don’t actually know what part of the patient’s body is affected and what you will have to do about it.

By studying anatomy in your massage therapy class, you will learn how medical and psychiatric conditions affect the body. Stress, in particular, causes many of these conditions and your anatomy class will teach you how to practice your skills on stressed-out patients and help them get a feeling of relaxation and well-being.

You will learn the history of this combination of art and science; several of your massage therapy classes will teach you how this holistic approach to pain and distress has been used for thousands of years. Before there was surgery for herniated disks in the lower back, there were the natural healing arts of herbalism, reflexology and massage therapy.

Ancient healers used massage to treat fatigue, injury and illness. The art has greatly advanced in the modern age because of what we now know about blood circulation, connective tissue, and necessary oxygen levels in the body.

Different types of therapeutic massage:

Just as a physician would not prescribe the same medical treatment for every patient, your massage therapy classes will teach you to evaluate a patient’s symptoms and decide upon what type of massage is right for him or her. This is an absolute necessity; unless you’ve properly diagnosed the source of the patient’s physical and emotional pain, you can’t know how to help the patient through massage.

A physician wouldn’t give a patient a shot of penicillin for low back pain; you, as a massage therapist will use the information you learned in your massage therapy classes and only select a massage protocol that fits the patient’s needs.

In your massage therapy class you will master the different kinds of therapeutic massage such as:

Swedish massage.

Neuromuscular techniques.

Lymphatic massage.

Reflexology.

Acupressure massage.

Shiatsu massage.

Each of these categories has sub-categories of specific massage techniques. Massage students typically practice on each other or on their instructor. The only way to learn message is to give a massage under the scrutiny of the instructor. Before you ever touch anyone, your massage therapy classes in anatomy and conditions that can be helped through massage will have provided you with the instruction that you must know.

Your first massage therapy class may seem a bit overwhelming in the beginning, however, with each class and each practice session, your confidence will grow to the point where you feel good in accurately treating patients.

Question by fashaleviana: reflexology?
Can you give me some information about this following questions :
1) How reflexology works for depression?
2) What do you do to treat the patient who has depression?
3) How many times a week do they need to do the reflexology?
4) what is the benefit of doing the it?
5) is there side effect of doing the it?
6) how much does it cost for the overall treatment

Best answer:

Answer by ladybug
Why not call one and ask those questions?

I mean…I have been to a reflexologist loads of times but I couldn’t answer the questions the way the reflexologist could….

It feels great. Works things out of the system. Mine were $30 for an hour…I did it 2 times a month. She asked me if I had problems with my ovaries and I said…nope. Three years later I found out I couldn’t have children. It’s fascinating. She also did something similar to a coworker.

Give your answer to this question below!Question by joe friday’s grrl: In reflexology is there a specific area on the hands or feet that I could massage or manipulate for insomnia?
I don’t know much about reflexology, just that certain places on the hands and feet correspond to various other parts of the body and its organs. But does reflexology offer anything in the way of help for better sleep? I’ve had chronic insomnia following a traumatic event a decade ago. It’s hard for me to fall asleep, stay asleep, or sleep deeply, and my health has really suffered as a result. No pharmaceuticals (I’ve tried them ALL), herbal remedies or “sleep hygiene” tips I’ve been given over the years has done a bit of good. I’m planning to try hynpnotherapy, EMDR and Alpha-Stim soon with a new, very experienced therapist, but was also curious about reflexology.

I don’t know if reflexology helps you sleep but if you copy the above into your address area, you can find reflexology charts showing what part of your feet correspond to the various part of your body.

The massage chair – a viable alternative to traditional means of alleviating back aches.

There are lots of people who go through back aches and this could, in many cases, be so acute as to justify taking some relief measures and what better way than to use a massage chair. Oftentimes, the lower back is the area of the body most afflicted with aches and pains and this could end up impacting the upper body muscles as well. The vast majority of relief measures suggested for helping back aches are taking rest, heating the painful area or taking pain killing pills, as well as taking lots of bed rest, which studies indicate may not after all be the best overall cure.

Till recently, it was these traditional methods which people sought for getting relief but that has changed with newer scientific studies throwing up solutions such as massage chairs to cure back aches. People who have used massage chairs to cure their aches and pains have positive things to say about these chairs which use a therapy that has been known for quite some time.

A study released by the American Medical Association in its April 2001 issue said that Archives of Internal Medicine shows the massage chair to be one of the best relief giving pieces of equipment obtainable today that can be used effectively to treat chronic back aches and does not have any side effects, and should be a number one choice from the various options available. It is thought that as many as 75% of those who have used massage chair therapy have been found to have benefited significantly and this percentage of encouraging responses are much higher than for any of the other traditional means of pain relief.

Anybody who has tried and not found satisfactory relief from other traditional forms of medical treatment should seriously consider massage chair therapy as a scientifically proven method that has proved itself successful in alleviating chronic and other back aches. Even though heating the affected area is a very effective means of alleviating pains it can also be alleviated by massage chairs. Another common cause of back ache is not sitting properly, especially at the workplace and in such instances massage chairs, which can be made to recline horizontally will help greatly to give relief to the aching back. This is achieved by lowering the pressure on the back, especially by loosening muscles, creating a reduction in tissue adhesion as well as showing considerable improvement in the local blood pressure.

There are many companies with who are forward thinking with their attitudes that are buying massage chairs for their workplace with brands such as Sterling, Keyton, Sanyo and HTT being popular manufactures of massage chairs. As an investment, the massage chair will certainly pay back the costs by slashing the time lost to back ache suffering employees as well as eliminating the side effects that some medications can cause.

Answer by Toonces
I think my wife paid just over $300 for her’s. Probably the best function, she said, were the travel wheels. If you’re going from event to event, you want to make sure the wheels will hold up. I know that has no direct relation to actual massage practice.

After that, make sure it’s fully adjustable and all that. Make sure it sets up quickly, with as few steps as possible.

Honestly, I don’t remember the brand but it has a cover and although my wife did not want to specialize or be known for ‘chair massages’, she was/is happy with what she purchased.

Keep this question open and I’ll find out tonight what she has and ‘edit’ it in. In the meantime, check out the link below.

Peace.

‘Wife got “Stronglite”, http://www.massageking.com/products/Massage-Chair-Package/StrongLite-Ergo-Pro-Massage-Chair-Package/1175/1/1

She likes it 1) for it’s stability. When people get on it, it doesn’t wiggle around and 2) the knee pads come off for people that cannot bend their legs back. Some people cannot put weight on their knees like that.

She didn’t purchase it at the link above but the price was about the same.

Good luck

Oh I found one!

In the local Costco of El Centro, California, they sell massage chairs.
I’m not talking about thousand dollar chairs, I’m talking about those things that you attach to a chair.
Most of those things are only vibrations, but I’m looking for one with rotating balls in it.
I’d like to see a good, cheap one. I saw one at my CVS, but it was $99. I’m hoping to find one cheaper. Any idea where to look?

Walmart sure, but I’ve been there and all they had were the vibrating ones or just ones for your neck. I’m looking for full back ones.

Giving yourself or someone else’s feet a foot massage is an stimulating activity that will give a lot of pleasure to whoever receives the treatment. Studies that focus on foot massages are called and getting in depth information about this type of massage is something that will not only enhance one’s know how but also improve their foot massage abilities.

Learning and having experience about the basic fundamental rules can help you to give a general tension relieving foot massage. A number of benefits that result from reflexology can occur by simply massaging the soles of the feet and taking special care of tender areas. A foot massage is sure to make you and your feet feel relaxed and comfortable.

Whether you are a beginner or experienced massage therapist, you can become more knowledgeable and confident about the nerve-rich areas of the feet. Rhonda Funes has been practicing and teaching reflexology for 15 years. In this video, she demonstrates basic and advanced reflexology techniques that anyone can use.
Some foot massage techniques:

The first thing to consider in a foot massage is to have two or three towels handy as well as having enough lotions or creams. For feet having rough calluses and hard skin, a rich cream would be ideal and works better than a hand lotion or oil, though they will all work, to different degrees. There are also people who might wish to use creams scented with eucalyptus or mint, both of which work wonders for refreshing tired feet. A natural disinfectant is tea tree oil, or if you wish to make your own concoction, mix a few drops of essential oil with unscented creams.

The second important factor to note when giving a foot massage is to keep the feet absolutely clean, so soak the feet with a cup of Epsom salt that has been dissolved in a gallon of warm water because it will help to de-stress before the foot massage begins. In addition, make sure that the feet are completely dried, even between the toes of the feet.

Lastly, massage the feet, one foot at a time and follow a routine, start massaging the cream with care into the whole foot, starting from top and right down to the bottom and then to the toes and ankles.

Then, one needs to work a little more deeply by applying strokes around the feet and working one’s way up to the ankles and then on to the soles of the feet, taking care to place a towel below to protect the clients clothes. Apply some more pressure and continue by going over the sole again, taking care to apply more pressure on points that may be experiencing chronic pain. When massaging the toes, use gentle and circular motions and stretch the feet a bit as you rub them.

Always use plenty of cream and massage the feet gently, finishing the foot massage by repeating the all-over massage that was done at the beginning. When the foot massage has been finished, make sure that the soles of the feet are dried thoroughly to help prevent accidental slipping. Once the massage is finished the feet will once again, feel fresh and soft. Also the client should feel relaxed and energized

The benefits of a deep tissue massage.

A deep tissue massage is a massage technique which centers mainly on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, and aims specifically at releasing the persistent areas of tension in the body through the use of slow hand strokes and deep finger pressure on particular areas of the body.

A deep tissue massage is the type of massage that is commonly employed to release areas chronic muscle tension, and this style of massage also helps to break up and remove any existing scar tissue.

The main objective of massage is to relax the body while releasing tension and toxins, and helping to relax and soothe the muscles. Although deep tissue methods are usually intended for more focused massage work, it is easy enough to learn.

The best idea is to start superficially and then slowly ease into the depth of the muscle, and this is especially important because each person will experience pressure differently, and so what may feel soft to one person may feel incredibly rough to another.

Not only does a deep tissue massage feel great, but it is also incredibly beneficial to your health. This is because both oxygen and nutrients are blocked when you are stressed, and this can lead to inflammation and a build-up of toxins in the muscle tissue. With this type of massage, you can loosen your muscle tissues, release toxins from your muscles, and also get your blood and circulation flow going properly.

As well, if the pressure is applied too hard too quickly, the muscles may actually tighten in order to protect that area, and not only will this not feel pleasurable but it can also cause serious injury. This type of massage is also the one which is most often used for that of sports related and other injuries, as the depth of the actual massage can be used to relieve pain and strains from deep in the muscle tissue.

Deep tissue massage is also used in the treating of muscle, tendon and ligament injuries for example, as well as that of immobilizing diseases. It is also extremely dynamic for that of skeletal structures that are found to lie deep within the body and which usually cannot be reached with the fingers in a regular type of massage.

It basically works by breaking down scar tissue and crystallization which thus helps to restore that of proper muscular balance and bone structure.

Question by louise: What is the difference between a Swedish massage and a deep tissue massage? Which one do you prefer?

Best answer:

Answer by prettylucky33
ive had both & i prefer the swedish massage.. the deep tissue massage just works into your skin deeper so its a bit rougher.. it feels like a trainers massage (ew) lol

Give your answer to this question below!Question by uscejd: What specific parts of the body are covered in a Deep Tissue Massage?

Best answer:

Answer by missmiami
I had one in feb. They focus where most of the tension is on your body. For me it was the shoulders. Of course it’s full body massage but they emphasize where the most tension is and for me it was my shoulders. Very relaxing and good stress reliever.

What do you think? Answer below!Question by stimpy: what are the “toxins” released by deep tissue massage or spinal manipulation?
a true deep tissue massage tends to make one feel a bit crappy the next day, and I’ve heard that is due to the release of “toxins”, a vague term indeed. Are these excess calcium, or other compounds released into the bloodstream to be filtered by the kidneys and liver?

Best answer:

Answer by banzai_4
it’s a buzzward, it doesn’t release any ‘toxins.’ A toxin has a specific definition of a poison produced in nature.

most likely due to lactic acid synthesis of the muscles aggrivated by harsh massaging do you feel crappy afterwards, the same feeling as if you had an extremely exhausting workout.

But there are not ‘toxins’ released–that doesn’t make ANY sense physiologically

Add your own answer in the comments!Question by Bridgette: Is it normal to swell after a deep tissue massage?
I got a massage today on some very very tight muscles in my neck and back. The area feels so much looser and I haven’t gotten the headache or shooting pains that I had, but the area is very swollen and when I touch it, it feels so sore! Should I ice it? Is this normal?

Best answer:

Answer by Amaranth
Yes, it can be normal. You probably had some knots in your muscle. It takes a lot of work to loosen them. Apply ice, you can also take Advil for the pain.

A good body massage will relax you.

Massage is a wonderful way of relaxing after a tiring day at home or work, there is nothing better than feeling refreshed with a pleasurable sensation. To give a good body massage is a skill that requirers intensive study. Besides personal skills in the treatment, different massage products can be used as an aid in bringing about the desired effect. You will certainly need to take a course to become a successful professional in the massage business.

Some tips for a fulfilling body massage:

Some general considerations in giving a body massage include the massage area, atmosphere, clothing, and movement techniques over the body.

Massage Area: First of all, prepare your massage area. It can be a chair, a table, or a bed. In case you use a chair or a table, put warm towels or a comfortable blanket on it. Whether a chair, table, or a bed, the massage area should be firm and supportive – a soft, cushion bed is not suitable for a good massage.

Supporting Means: It is advisable to always keep some supporting aids, like pillows, for your arms. You might need to place your arms on these in different positions during the massage.

Atmosphere: Atmosphere is very important in the effect of your body massage session. Generally, a good massage is given in a place with dim lights. Bright light tend to stress the nerves, so avoid using it. Using aromatherapy candles greatly enhances the effect of the massage. A light, relaxing music also adds to the pleasure and calm of the session. Soft, instrumental music with no lyrics is recommended.

Clothing: A good body massage will ideally be given to a bare body. However, many people will not like the idea of going without any clothes, so at least the back should be bare for the duration of the massage.

Massage Oil: Pour a little massage oil on your hands and rub gently on the recipient’s back. Don’t use too much oil so as to let it absorb well and avoid making the person’s skin slippery with it.

Fan Stroke: Fan stroke is a gentle movement given before a deeper massage. For this, place your hands flat on both sides of the recipient’s spine just above the hips. Press gently but on the sides of the spine and not on the spine itself. Slide your hands forward slowly till they reach the shoulder blades. Move them over the shoulder blades and then back to the starting point. Repeat it several times.

Kneading Technique: Move from the fan stroke to the kneading technique. This includes slowly kneading the muscles (but not the skin).

Raking: This process involves using your hands like a rake. However, remember not to use your fingernails but only your fingertips. At the end of a body massage , give a few feather light touches. Draw your fingers slowly and gently down the back. Do not press anywhere, just run your fingers over the skin.

Question by virgin guy: Anyone know of any good holistic health practitioners in san diego that are cheap?
Im looking to try a holistic health practition and im in the San Diego area. Can you guys recommend anyone that you tried or heard of that is good and is reasonably priced. Im not talking about massage. Im talking about a doctor that will recommend natural treatments , herbs etc, and not the regular medications that doctors prescribe.

Best answer:

Answer by Fashionista82
A holistic health practitioner in California IS a massage therapist that has 1,000 hours of training and has learned how to treat body ailments holistically using essential oils, herbs, stones, etc. A massage therapist only has 500 hrs and none of the training that a HHP has. So depending on what you want, I can help you.

I am moving to Spain shortly with my husband. I am a Reiki master and I also practise Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. I know there are lots of British holistic therapists who are working in Spain but I cannot find a good professional indemnity insurance policy.

Can anyone out there help?

Add your own answer in the comments!Question by mrniceguy1456: Do you think the rehab folks would go for me to be a massage therapist?
I have an appointment with Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS).
I am very into holistic things, natural foods and the healing power of touch.
I would like to get into massage therapy because I would be able to work as part time without really messing up my SSDI.
I am deaf. That might be a plus in massage.
What do you think?

Best answer:

Answer by Rachel_S165
Its not a bad idea.

Being deaf might be an issue though, because you need to be able to talk to your first-time clients before you work on them, to find out what they want to achieve from massage, what health issues they might have that you should know about, etc. While you’re working on them, you also need to be able to ask them if they’re comfortable, are you using the right amount of pressure (too much? not enough?). They need to be able to tell you if they’re too warm or too cold, if they want you to put on different music, or no music, etc.

But if you can figure out how to communicate with your clients, massage therapy might be a good career choice since you can work part-time without jeopardizing your SSDI.

You can probably get student loans and government grants to pay for your massage therapy education.

If I were you, I would ask DORS about it!

Add your own answer in the comments!Question by joemj413: List of holistic places that take health insurance/SAGA in Connecticut?
I’m currently on SAGA and looking for alternative holistic healing places (massage, reiki/energy therapy, ect, that will accept SAGA health insurance from Connecticut. Preferably in New Haven county but anywhere in state is fine. Help?!

Best answer:

Answer by drskowron
Many naturopathic physicians are providers with insurance companies in CT. I am unaware of SAGA, but call them and see who their providers are. My practice in Hamden (203-230-2200) accepts Blue Cross, Oxford, and Connecticare.

Even if you don’t go to a massage school, you can still learn the fundamentals about giving a good massage.

Giving a massage tips.

There are some essential procedures that you can learn in order to provide a soothing and acceptable back massage, and they are:

Get the person who is going to have the massage to lie on their front on a stable and comfortable surface, such as a massage table if you have one, and if not you can find something else that works easily enough. Be sure that which ever position the person is lying you have access and can reach across their entire back without having to stretch to much.

Stand or kneel by their side, placing one of your hands on their lower back and the other hand up between the shoulder blades, over the heart. Then warm up their back by applying pressure with your thumbs along both sides of their spine simultaneously. You should start the back massage at the lower back and work your way up to the neck area, rather than the other way around.

You then use a delicate stroke to apply massage oil, and you do this by using one long stroke and sliding your palms down either side of the spine to the pelvis, then scoop your hands out around their hips and back up the sides to the shoulder blades. Remember to constantly maintain contact with the back, and always glide your hands rather than remove completely when you are moving to another area.

You should especially work on areas that feel hard or tight, as these are called knots and working these out will immediately make the person feel looser more relaxed. When doing a back massage always perform clockwise circular friction with your fingertips along the muscles that are close to the spine and around the shoulder blades, as these are usually the tensest areas. Also, remember to always rotate the arms gently, one at a time, in order to help loosen the shoulder joints and enhance blood flow.

There are so many benefits that can be obtained from having a good massage, such as relaxation, heightened body awareness, better circulation, and better lymphatic drainage for discharging of toxins. However, when you are applying a back massage, you must remember to never put any heavy pressure on the spine, and to avoid any broken skin, blisters, or areas of potential infection.
